Barrow ran in five tries to claim an emotional 30-0 victory over fellow Cumbrian side Whitehaven at Craven Park tonight. Andy Ballard, Brett McDermott, Jamie Rooney, Martin Ostler and Andy Bracek all crossed as the Raiders got their Co-operative Championship challenge back on track after two cup defeats. Rooney added five goals. Barrow remain fourth, seven points adrift of third-placed Halifax but with two games in hand. The match was Whitehaven's first outing since the shootings in their region and the tragic death of former player Garry Purdham last week.
