Contributions from Raiders 1875 club members have enabled the club to make the capture of Shaun Lunt.
Barrow Raiders are delighted to announce the signing of former Grand Final winner Shaun Lunt for the 2021 season. Shaun was very impressed with the ambition of the club and coach Paul Crarey and said that he has had both success at Super League and Championship level and was keen to lead the Raiders to the League One title to complete the set. Welcome aboard Shaun.
Shaun is pictured with Chairman Steve Neale and Players Director Andy Gaffney outside Raiders main club sponsors Furness Park Motors. Barrow Raiders would like to thank the members of the 1875 club for making this signing possible.
The hooker, who won a Grand Final with Leeds Rhinos in 2012, returns to Cumbria after a spell with Batley this year, making the move after a second spell with Leeds came to an end.
An ex-England international, Lunt’s career began at Castleford making a switch to Workington before joining Huddersfield in 2009. He made over 100 appearances for the Giants and won the League Leaders’ Shield in 2013.
Spells with Leeds Rhinos and Hull KR followed before signing for Batley Bulldogs in 2020.
