Barrow Raiders Ladies can confirm some changes to Amanda Wilkinson’s backroom team ahead of the 2024 Betfred Women’s Super League season.
Paul Sykes has joined the Raiders Ladies first team as a coaching assistant, in addition to his current role as head coach of the club’s reserves team.
He previously spent time coaching younger age groups at Millom in both rugby league and union, where he worked with several of the club’s current first team players, including Mia Dobson, Beth Pattinson and Jodie Morley – whose try clinched promotion in last year’s play-off final against Leigh Leopards.

Sykes also coached Charlie Emslie and Connor Terrill during their younger days.
“It was an absolute honour to be asked by Amanda if I was interested,” he said. “I would’ve said yes the minute she asked, but I thought I’d play it cool and make her wait…. for at least a week!
“I’m looking forward to working with Amanda and Dan more closely, picking up more experience on the way.
“Hopefully I can put all that experience into developing our reserves team and players so they will be ready to make that step up into Super League.”
We are also pleased to welcome Vicky Leithead to the club as kit woman.
