It was a Sunday afternoon to forget for Barrow Raiders, who were heavily beaten 72-0 at Doncaster in Week 1 of the Betfred Championship play-offs.

Doncaster capitalised on a below-par display from the Raiders as they ran in 12 tries without reply in South Yorkshire.

A rampant first-half display from Dons saw them head into the break 30 points ahead.

There were seven more tries scored after the interval, with four Doncaster players ending the afternoon with two tries to their name.

Connor Robinson was also flawless with the boot, on an afternoon which saw him set a new world record for the most consecutive successful conversions – currently standing at 52, 11 clear of the previous record.

The Raiders must now regroup quickly ahead of their play-off eliminator against Sheffield Eagles on Sunday 13 September (3pm kick-off).

Defeat for either side would signal the end of their season, with the victors progressing to Week 3 of the play-offs.
