“I’m very local to Halifax, so I still know everybody down there and had a bit of a catch up with them before the game,” the 32-year-old said.
“But all in all, a good result and good win. A much-needed win after the performances that we’ve had at the start of season. To get it against a top side like Halifax, it was really positive for us.
“Hopefully, it’ll kickstart our league campaign.”
Worthington also believes there was a marked improvement in their performance compared to recent weeks.
The Raiders have fallen just short in some of the early rounds of the season but were able to secure a crucial victory on home soil this time around.
“We haven’t been absolutely battered by anyone, ” he added. “It’s just that we’ve not completed high in any of our previous games.

“If you’re going to complete at 50-60% in games, you’re not giving yourselves a chance to be in it.
“It’s not been for a lack of effort, it’s just we’ve been giving ourselves too much work to do.
“We’ve had spells in the second half where we put the ball down quite easily, but we had a bit of steel and determination in order to get through that patch, and I think that’s what got us the victory.”
