Barrow Raiders utility back Luke Broadbent insists the squad cannot rest on their laurels as they look to move clear of the Betfred Championship relegation zone.
Last Sunday’s 26-18 victory at home to Widnes Vikings saw the Raiders climb up to 10th on the ladder, three points clear of the bottom two.
Next up, they travel to Halifax Panthers knowing a win – their fifth in the last seven matches, should it happen – would see them move to within four points of the play-off spots and aid their survival bid in the process.
It will be a second trip to the Shay this season, with Paul Crarey’s side narrowly beaten in the Betftred Challenge Cup at the beginning of April.

The two sides also met in league action, with the Raiders winning 16-12 on home soil seven days prior to that cup clash.
“We have to kick on now and continue to break away from the bottom two, as we know Swinton and Newcastle are still capable of picking up some wins along the way,” Broadbent said.
“These last two wins have been massive for us and have lifted us as a team. The attitude in training has been great during these last couple of weeks.
“Halifax are a good team and play some great rugby, so we are expecting a real tough game. Having previously beat them at home this year, we know we are capable of coming away with a win and putting in a performance.
“We know what to expect – when you go to the Shay, it will always be a tough challenge, as we saw in the cup earlier this year. We can expect Halifax to be ready for us.”
On an individual note, Broadbent has found his peak form in recent weeks, scoring six tries in his last seven matches for the Raiders.

It has been a fine first season at the Raiders for the young outside back, who has featured 12 times for the first team in a number of positions, including full-back, centre and on the wing.
“I have to put a lot of my form down to the other lads,” he admitted.
“I’m getting lots of opportunities with Shane Toal, Johno and Danny Langtree giving me plenty of ball in good areas of the field.
“I’ve settled in really well and really enjoying my rugby here in Barrow. The lads and coaches have made me feel welcome this year, and I’m hoping I can continue the good form for the rest of the season and keep performing when given the opportunity from Cresta.”
