Barrow Raiders were crowned Foundation of the Year at last night’s inaugural Rugby League Awards in Manchester.
Rugby League staged its biggest and most inclusive Awards Night at Emirates Old Trafford, with the Raiders vying for 2023 Foundation of the Year alongside all other UK clubs, including those at Betfred Super League level.
The Advantage! Barrow Raiders Community Foundation scored highly across 11 categories which included promotion to the Betfred Women’s Super League for Barrow Ladies and an award-winning year for our Learning Disability and Able Raiders programmes – the latter also a recipient of a People’s Project award earlier this year, as voted for by viewers of ITV Granada.
A total of 16 awards were handed out on the night at Emirates Old Trafford, including the prestigious Steve Prescott MBE Man of Steel award which was won by Wigan Warriors’ Bevan French.
