Barrow Raiders have signed five young starlets on dual-registration ahead of the 2024 season.

The quintet have earned deals with the club after impressing during the Raiders’ three pre-season friendlies against Rochdale Hornets, North Wales Crusaders and Hunslet.

Max Anderson-Moore, Roly Seward, Connor Terrill, Fin Dutton-Rosconie and Finn McMillan will all continue to train with the senior side and be available for selection, but can also enjoy game time with their respective community clubs.

All five players are either current players in, or products of, our Furness Raiders academy.

Dutton-Rosconie and McMillan have played for the Raiders’ development side already during the 2023/24 campaign.

Seward, a former Furness Raiders captain, was named in the first team travelling party to face Toulouse Olympique last August.

Ex-Askam youngster Seward currently turns out for Dalton ARLFC, having been a stand-out performer during the 2022/23 season for Furness Raiders as they reached the College League play-off semi-finals.

Young forward Terrill has previously enjoyed two spells with the Raiders and is back for more ahead of the new season.

Named Scotland’s Under-19s Player of the Year for 2019, Terrill spent a season in the French Elite Championship with Villeneuve before returning to the UK and linking up with Workington Town, where he made five appearances in total.

The final new face arriving at Craven Park is Anderson-Moore, who has previously been capped by Scotland’s U20s.

He is capable of playing across the backline and also spent time at Workington last season, scoring twice in seven appearances.

The Raiders return to competitive action on Sunday with a trip to Workington Town in the group stages of the 1895 Cup.

That will be followed by an away game at Whitehaven, with only the top team in each group guaranteed to secure safe passage to the knockout stages.
