The stage is set for an action-packed day of women’s rugby league as the groups for the 2025 Women’s Nines festival have officially been announced!
The RFL have unveil the group draw for this year’s tournament, featuring a fresh new format that promises plenty of action right from the first whistle.
This year, teams have been split into four groups: one group of five and three groups of four, with each playing a round-robin format in the morning.
Each group includes:
- 2x WSL teams – one from the top four and one from the bottom four of the 2024 season
- 1x Northern Championship team
- 1–2x invitational teams
After the group stage, all teams will progress to the play-offs, with the following structure:
- The top two teams in each group move on to the Championship bracket
- Third-place teams head to the Cup competition
- Teams finishing fourth and fifth will battle it out in the Shield play-offs
The Women’s Nines Festival is set to be a day full of excitement, competitive spirit, and top-tier talent, so don’t miss out!

Group D:
- York Valkyrie
- Leigh Leopards
- Cardiff Demons
- Wakefield Trinity
