Barrow Raiders staged an incredible comeback from 28-0 down at half-time to defeat Dewsbury Rams 39-28, in one of the most remarkable Betfred Championship games in recent memory.
An error-ridden first half saw the Raiders go into the break well behind as the visiting Rams seemingly took control.
But the second half proved to be a totally different story as Paul Crarey’s side turned the game on its head, making it back on level terms heading into the final 10 minutes.
A Brad Walker drop-goal saw the hosts take the lead for the first time, before late tries from Joe Bullock and Curtis Teare sealed the win.
The Rams fully merited their half-time advantage, their first try coming just six minutes in when Danny Addy forced his way over.
Top scorer Tom Delaney was next to cross, before a George Senior intercept saw them score try number three.
Jacob Algar stretched their lead further on the half-hour, with Liam Copland racing over before the break to make it 28-0.
A quick start to the second half was needed for the Raiders, and Andrew Bulman provided exactly that when he went over in the corner after 42 minutes.
Ryan King wrestled his way over to continue his fine recent form, and before the hour mark Ellis Robson collected an offload to go over.
The Raiders drew back to within six minutes when Alex Bishop sent Shane Toal over, and within minutes Bishop went from provider to scorer to level things up.
Brad Walker’s drop-goal nudged the Raiders ahead, less than 10 minutes from time, before a converted Joe Bullock score made it 35-28.
Curtis Teare wrapped up the win in the final moments, scoring a try which was followed by a mass melee in the corner which resulted in yellow cards for King and Teare, as well as Dewsbury’s Luke Nelmes and Ellis Lingard, and a straight red card for Algar.
Saturday’s result sees the Raiders climb to second in the table ahead of the remainder of the weekend’s games, two points off top spot.
They will go in search of a fifth straight win when they visit the CorpAcq Stadium to take on Salford RLFC next Sunday.
