Barrow Ladies squad awarded heritage numbers

Members of the Barrow Raiders Ladies squad received their heritage numbers last month, as part of a new scheme launched by the club.

Since the team reformed as Barrow Raiders Ladies in 2021, they have gone from strength to strength and now reside in the Betfred Women’s Super League Group 2.

They are proudly led by head coach Amanda Wilkinson, who took on the role in November 2021 ahead of the club’s debut campaign in the Women’s Super League.

The heritage numbers have been produced to ensure each of the ladies has a firm place in the club’s history, and we were excited to welcome sponsors, friends and family to the Matt Johnson Prestige Stadium ahead of the ladies’ recent 42-0 victory over Bradford Bulls Women.

Each player to have represented the Raiders Ladies since its inception in 2021 has received a heritage number, and we are proud to continue this trend moving forward as the team continues to evolve.

Head coach Amanda Wilkinson said: “It was a fantastic occasion as we presented the Barrow Raiders Ladies players with their heritage numbers.

“We invited sponsors, family and friends to join us pre-match to present the current squad with their numbers in the marquee, whilst enjoying a drink and nibbles. They then joined the players in the changing rooms to see behind the scenes before heading out pitch-side to watch the ladies warm up.

“It was such a great day. The ladies put in a great performance and it was nice to present players from 2021/22 awarded their heritage numbers post-game.

“It’s always exciting to represent such a club, but to be recognised and presented with a heritage number is such a great moment for all the players.”
