Barrow Raiders have signed young hooker Trent Ruddy on a three-year deal.
The move sees Ruddy agree his first professional deal with the club, having impressed as part of the Furness Raiders Development Academy over the past two years.
Ruddy was one of several youngsters invited to train with the Raiders first team ahead of the 2025 season.
The 18-year-old featured heavily during the club’s pre-season schedule, scoring his first senior try against Workington Town.
Earlier this year, Ruddy also represented the England Community Lions Under 18s at the Four Nations Youth Championship, scoring twice in their tournament opener against Scotland.
“I’m really proud to have signed for Barrow Raiders,” Ruddy said.
“Having been part of the Furness Raiders Development Academy for the last two years and involved in pre-season with the Barrow Raiders squad, it’s a great feeling to now get this opportunity.
“I’m very grateful to everyone who has supported my journey so far at Barrow Raiders, along with those at Barrow Island, Millom and the England Community Lions.
“I’m looking forward to continuing to learn, develop and contribute to the team in any way I can.”
