Monumental effort sees Raiders fall agonisingly short

Barrow and Leigh provided a thrilling Betfred Championship tie to mark the Queen’s Jubilee with the Centurions eventually taking the two points.

Adrian Lam’s side raced into a comfortable lead with Raiders pulling 4 points back on the stroke of half time to go in 4 – 18 down at the Matt Johnson Prestige Stadium.

Second placed Leigh controlled the first period but Barrow enjoyed the best of the second half.

The Raiders led with seven minutes remaining but Blake Ferguson raced the full length of the pitch for the winning try to break Raiders hearts as Leigh came out victorious 28 – 30.
