Report: Featherstone Rovers 64-6 Barrow Raiders

It was a tough afternoon on Sunday for Barrow Raiders as they were comprehensively beaten 64-6 at Betfred Championship leaders Featherstone Rovers.

Sean Long’s Rovers side ran in a total of 11 tries as they recorded their 13th successive league win of 2023.

Craig Hall used his pace and power to open the scoring 13 minutes in, and that was followed by tries for Luke Briscoe, Caleb Aekins, Gareth Gale and Mackenzie Yei before the half-time break.

The second half was a similar affair, although it started promisingly for the Raiders when Luke Broadbent acrobatically finished in the corner with 50 minutes on the clock.

That was as good as it got for the Raiders, however, with Raiders old boy Chris Hankinson next to cross for Rovers.

His try was followed by others for the debuting Arama Hau, Jack Bussey, Connor Jones (2) and Tomas Lacans.

Paul Crarey’s side will need to move on quickly from their Round 13 result and re-focus on the visit of Keighley Cougars to the Matt Johnson Prestige Stadium next Sunday.

Tickets for that fixture can be bought here.
