Barrow Raiders are back in Betfred Challenge Cup action this Saturday, as they welcome York Knights to the Northern Competitions Stadium in the third round.
The Raiders will put their unbeaten start to the season on the line when the newly-promoted Super League outfit visits Cumbria tomorrow, after claiming victories against Workington Town, Wigan St Judes, and, most recently, Salford RLFC.
Paul Crarey’s side last defeated the York Knights in April 2024, with Brad Walker’s drop-goal proving to be the difference in a 15-14 victory at the Northern Competitions Stadium. Since then, the Knights have defeated the Raiders on three occasions, despite resilient performances from Barrow, and it is shaping up to be another tough challenge following York’s ascendancy into the Super League for the 2026 season.
Below, we’ve compiled everything you need to know ahead of the fixture.

Squad news
The 21-man squad has been named for Saturday’s Challenge Cup fixture against York Knights.
There are two changes from last weekend’s 38-4 victory against Salford RLFC.
Due to the terms of his loan agreement with Castleford Tigers, hooker Aiden Doolan is ineligible to play. Youngster Trent Ruddy also misses out.
In their stead, Alex Bishop and captain Ryan Johnston return to the lineup after recovering from their respective injuries.
