Barrow Raiders Ladies’ Under 19s backroom team has been strengthened by the appointment of Ste Hartle as strength & conditioning coach.
He will work alongside newly-appointed Under 19s head coach Lee Johnson, whose new role was officially confirmed last week.
Hartle played his rugby for Hindpool Tigers, from a youngster right through to open age.
Inspired by Stuart Wilkinson to become a strength & conditioning coach, he went on to complete a BSc in strength and conditioning, majoring in human biomechanics.
Hartle has coached open age rugby at Hindpool Tigers, Cumbria County Under 17s, and has previous experience in strength & conditioning coaching with the Raiders Ladies first team, as well as for the England Lionhearts, with whom he completed a tour of Serbia.
“I’m keen to develop young players in the women’s game and to support the development of the girls pathways in Barrow,” he said.
“I’m looking forward to being back in a high performance environment.”
Under 19s head coach Lee Johnson said: “It’s great to have Ste on the coaching team, and I’m looking forward to working with him to develop the players together.”
Women’s first team boss Amanda Wilkinson added: “Ste has expertise in the area, and the Under 19s are in great hands with him.
“He brings great energy with him that will work really well with our up-and-coming players.”
