Barrow Raiders captain Jarrad Stack says that a play-off tie on home soil is a reward for their incredible success this season.
The Raiders secured a fourth placed finish with a hard fought 30-20 victory away to London Broncos last Sunday which guaranteed them a home play-off fixture against Batley this weekend.
With a massive game on the horizon, captain Jarrad Stack admits that the fixture is a testament to the Raiders’ fantastic season and that the occasion will be special for the club and fans.

“It’s massive for us. At the start of the season, we were written off by critics, and a lot of fans thought that coming from League 1 we weren’t going to be anywhere near the finals.
“With the way the team has gelled throughout the season, the work of the coaching staff and that belief amongst the group, a home play-off draw is the perfect reward.”
The Raiders have embodied their underdog status this year, but Stack believes that the play-off tie is a perfect opportunity to showcase just how strong rugby league is in Cumbria by solidifying the club within the division.
“We’d love to crack the 3,000 [attendance] mark and show just how alive rugby league is in Cumbria.
“The club deserves to be in the Championship, and hopefully next year we can build on what we’ve managed to achieve in 2022.”
The experienced Raiders captain understands that nothing is certain in knockout rugby and that anything is possible, but with this being a momentous occasion for the club, he believes his side can meet the challenge head on.

“All year we’ve played some pretty exciting rugby. We’ve come from behind, so having a home final would probably mean a lot.
“I can’t remember the last time that Barrow reached the play-offs in the Championship, so I’m sure the fans will give us a big lift.
“Obviously, Leigh are the favourites to go up, but anything is possible on any given day, whether that’s injuries, sin-bins or something else affecting a match..
“In knockout rugby we all know that anything can happen. And home or away, we’re confident of beating anyone.”
