Barrow Raiders head coach Paul Crarey has urged his players to show improvements as they look to kickstart their 2023 campaign on Sunday.
The Raiders are still searching for a first league win of the season, and they will have the chance to do so this weekend away at York RLFC Knights.
Speaking ahead of the match, Crarey said: “We need to be hard to beat, and everyone will see us as a bit of a target team at the moment.

“We’ve got the personnel to be a very good, steady team, and we’re working hard as a group.
“It’s all about attitude, application and game management. Hopefully we get that right this week, put a performance in at York and start to turn things around.”
Despite a tough start to the new season, Crarey admits it is the time for cool heads to prevail as his players look to regroup ahead of Round 4.
“We’ve got to keep working hard and believing in our systems,” he added.

“There are certain things we’re doing which are killing us. Defensively, we could’ve been better [against Swinton].
“We’re not far away on certain things that we’re doing. Sunday was a game that we lost rather than the other team won, because with eight minutes to go we were eight points up.
“Once we get our mindset into grinding and seeing games out, we’ll be a force.”
