Barrow Raiders will need to be on top of their game to get a result against Swinton Lions this weekend, insists head coach Paul Crarey.
The Raiders will go in search of a first league win of the season at Heywood Road.
However, it won’t be an easy task against their newly-promoted hosts, who picked up an impressive 30-16 victory away at last season’s beaten Championship play-off finalists Batley Bulldogs a week ago.

“I spoke to the lads about it – we’ve got to be ready for them, because they’ll be ready for us,” Crarey said.
“There’s 14 teams in this division, and plenty of them have won one game and lost one game. You’ve got to turn up every week, otherwise you’ll get beat. If a number of players aren’t on it, you don’t win.
“Swinton got a terrific win at Batley and they’ll be buoyant from that. They’ve got some good players.
“They’ve got some momentum behind them and will believe that they can win games. They’ll see us as a target.”
Despite the Raiders tasting defeat in the opening two rounds of the season, Crarey has emphasised how quickly fortunes can turn around.
“You’re 80 minutes away from a performance and a win, and it can kick-start your season,” he insisted.

“The lads have trained really well. We’ve gone through the video and looked at where we need to go, so hopefully after next weekend we won’t need to keep repeating ourselves.
“The Championship is tough this year and everyone has bought well.
“We’ve got to get back to where we were last year.”
