Barrow Raiders Ladies’ Betfred Women’s Super League opener away at Wigan Warriors Women will take place at the DW Stadium.

The Round 1 clash, which sees Amanda Wilkinson lock horns with her former club, will be part of a Wigan double-header on Friday 19 April as the men’s team take to the field against Castleford Tigers later in the night.

The Raiders Ladies’ game at the DW Stadium will be a 5:30pm kick-off.

It will be the first time the Wigan women’s team have played a game at the DW Stadium, and the fixture will also mark Denis Betts’ first Women’s Super League game in charge of the Warriors.

On the announcement, Barrow Ladies head coach Amanda Wilkinson said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for my girls to enjoy a taste of playing at one of the most iconic rugby league grounds in the UK.

“On a personal note, I’m looking forward to returning to the DW after spending 14 very happy years with the club.

“The girls have been working extremely hard ahead of the new season, preparing for both the Challenge Cup group stages and the upcoming league campaign.

“They have earned the right to play at the highest level, and I am confident that they can go out there and produce a good performance to kick-start our 2024 season.”
