Barrow Raiders have signed Workington Town hooker Blain Marwood on an initial two-week loan deal.
As part of the agreement, Raiders forward Mike Ogunwole will head in the other direction on a two-week loan to bolster his game time.
Marwood is capable of operating at both hooker or in the halves. He made his Workington debut in 2019 and has gone on to make 33 appearances for the club, five of which have come this season.
The 26-year-old has also been a stand-out performer in the amateur game for a number of years, regularly featuring for Barrow Island.
He is the son of Dean Marwood, who made 49 appearances for the Raiders between 1997-99.
Barrow Raiders director of rugby Andy Gafney said: “This is a good move for both parties, as we were keen to provide Mike with further opportunities to play competitive rugby league and also add to our options at hooker.
“Blain will provide cover for Josh Wood and Aaron Smith, and I’d like to thank everyone at Workington for getting this deal over the line.”
