Barrow Raiders are proud to be hosting a concert to celebrate the life of Dave Myers on ‘Dave Day’, Saturday 8 June.

A bike ride has been arranged, with thousands of bikes starting in London, picking up en-route and heading to Barrow to help celebrate the life of Dave, a beloved TV personality and one half of the Hairy Bikers.

The club were approached by the organisers and Dave’s family to host the concert, and we have put together some fantastic acts, with a mainly local theme.

The bikes are expected to reach the town centre at around 4pm, with lots of celebratory events planned by the Town Hall until 7pm. Our concert will have doors open at 2pm, with music until 11pm.

This event will also provide an opportunity for Barrovians to show their support and love for Dave and his family.

The headline act is Massive Wagons who are playing for free, keeping the cost of tickets to the absolute minimum, and with all surplus monies going to Dave’s charities: Childline and the Institute for Cancer Research.

Supporting are some great performers in their own right:

  • Blue Nation
  • Maiden Cumbria
  • The Silver Bars
  • Jordan Gaffney
  • God Damn Smile
  • The Dales
  • Route 66

No age restrictions are applicable for the event, and under 2s will receive FREE admission. We are also limited to a 5,000 capacity and well over 50% of tickets have already gone!

This is probably the biggest event in Barrow’s recent history, and it is a chance to showcase our town to thousands of visitors, demonstrate how friendly and welcoming we all are and give them a weekend to remember.

As part of charity fundraising efforts, a Dave Day merchandise shop has been set up, as well as a GoFundMe which is already close to reaching the £10,000 mark.
