Barrow Raiders are delighted to announce that experienced second-rower Danny Langtree has signed a new two-year deal.
Langtree, 31, joined the club from Oldham ahead of the 2022 Betfred Championship season.
Despite suffering a hamstring injury early in the season and a torn bicep against York City Knights in May, his return to full fitness has coincided with the Raiders’ excellent recent run of results, culminating in a play-off spot being secured.
A product of St Helens’ academy system, Langtree has made 13 appearances for the club so far, all starts.

The new deal will keep him at the Matt Johnson Prestige Stadium until the end of the 2024 season.
On the contract extension, he said: “I’m happy to have signed a new deal and to be staying at the Raiders. I’m just glad everything’s sorted now, and I can try and finish the season as strongly as possible.
“I’ve enjoyed my first year here! Personally it’s been a bit disappointing with the injuries I’ve had, but with the lads doing so well on the pitch the place has been good to be around.”

Barrow Raiders chairman Steve Neale said: “We are delighted to add Danny to our growing list of retained players. We were always confident of his ability, and although he had a couple of injuries early on in the year, now he is proving himself and is a massive asset to the team.
“It was an easy decision for the coaching staff to ask him to go round again.”

Director of rugby Andy Gaffney added: “It’s great that Danny has committed to two more seasons with the club.
“He started off really well but has been unlucky with a few injuries. He is back playing now and showing the performances we knew we’d get when we first signed him.
“He is a great lad who always works hard, both at training and away from the club. He will be a very important player going forward for us.”
