Cumbria have named an initial 30-man training squad ahead of their upcoming international fixture against Nigeria this November.
The fixture will take place on Sunday 2 November (2pm kick-off) at the Northern Competitions Stadium. It will also see Cumbria’s representative side return to the field for the first time since 2023.
In total, eight Raiders have been named in the training squad – Luke Broadbent, Andrew Bulman, Luke Cresswell, Finn McMillan, Curtis Teare, Shane Toal, Brad Walker and Tom Walker.
The training squad contains a mixture of players with Betfred Super League, Championship and League One experience.
Among the players named are ex Wigan Warriors Grand Final winner Harvie Hill, recently signed by Hull FC, and a trio of Warrington Wolves youngsters in Zack Gardner, James Duffy and Tom McKinney.
There is further Super League representation in the form of Brad Singleton (Castleford Tigers) and Noah High (Wakefield Trinity).
Widnes Vikings’ Jordan Johnstone has also been named, as has Toulouse Olympique’s Ellis Gillam, who will return to the ground of his former club for just the second time since making the move to the south of France.
November’s international test will mark Nigeria’s first-ever fixture outside of Africa.
They look set to provide formidable opposition, with the likes of Eribe Doro (Hull KR) and Jayden Okunbor (Bradford Bulls) likely to be selected. Nigeria’s squad will also include a number of heritage players plying their trade in England.
Cumbria will be led by Raiders head coach Paul Crarey, assisted by Steve Rea and Paul McMillan.
Completing his backroom team for the fixture are Gary Murdoch (team manager) and Matthew Johnson (conditioner).
There has already been exceptional demand for tickets, which can be bought here.
The game will also be streamed live on Lounges.tv. Match passes are now available to buy.
