Wigan Warriors forward Harvey Makin has joined Barrow Raiders on a short-term loan deal.

The 22-year-old has previously featured for the club on two separate occasions, making 14 appearances across the 2023 and 2024 seasons, scoring his only try in a 24-10 victory over Swinton Lions in June 2024.

A Wigan Warriors academy product, Makin spent the first part of the 2026 campaign on loan at Oldham, featuring five times and scoring one try for the Roughyeds.

The young forward has previously gained further senior-level experience from his time at London Broncos, Bradford Bulls and Salford Red Devils.

On Makin’s return to the club, director of rugby Andy Gaffney said: “We’re delighted to welcome Harvey back to Barrow Raiders ahead of Sunday’s trip to Hunslet.

“Harvey has spent a good deal of time on loan for us in the past, and we know all about his ability to run hard and break the lines with his powerful stature and ball carrying, which quickly made him a fan favourite at the Speed Competitions Stadium.

“He will provide the ideal cover for some of our injured bodies in the forward pack, and we’d like to thank Wigan Warriors for trusting us with the continued development of one of their promising stars.”
