We would like to take a moment to recognise the incredible organisations supporting this year’s Junior Education Training Scheme (JETS) programme.
JETS is an initiative which sees head coach Paul Crarey and his team provide an invite to amateur coaches in the area to gain insight and benefit from their professional coaching expertise. This year, JETS celebrates its 10th anniversary!
Today, we say thank you to Furness Building Society:
Tell us a little bit about Furness Building Society, and the work you do?
Furness Building Society has been proudly serving our communities since 1865.
As a mutual organisation, we’re owned by our members – not shareholders – which means we can focus on doing what’s right for the people and places we serve. We offer a range of savings, mortgages and insurance products, but just as importantly, we’re committed to making a positive difference across Cumbria and beyond.
Whether it’s supporting local events, championing financial education, or working closely with charities and community groups, our purpose is to help our communities thrive.
What does it mean to you to support Barrow Raiders through opportunities such as this?
We’re incredibly proud to support Barrow Raiders and the wider rugby community in our heartland.
As a local organisation, we know just how important the Raiders are to the town – not just on the pitch, but as a positive influence in the community.
Sponsorship opportunities like this help us to play a small part in something bigger: inspiring young people, building confidence, and creating opportunities for development, both in sport and in life.
From your perspective, what is it that makes the JETS programme so unique?
The JETS programme stands out because it’s about so much more than rugby.
It supports young people to develop teamwork, resilience, and leadership skills – all while being part of something they can be truly proud of.
The programme gives local talent a pathway to grow, succeed and dream big, and we’re thrilled to play a part in helping that happen.
