Paul Crarey appointed Cumbria RL head coach

The Cumbria Rugby League Coordinating Committee are delighted to announce the appointment of Paul Crarey as head coach of the Cumbrian team for their upcoming fixture against Jamaica.

The current Barrow Raiders head coach will be assisted by Steve Rea and Whitehaven head coach Jonty Gorley, with Des Byrne appointed team manager.

The match against Jamaica promises to be a great night for Cumbrian rugby league, with a bumper crowd expected.

It will take place at 7:45pm on Friday 7 October. The match will be played at Derwent Park, home of Workington Town, as part of preparations for the upcoming Rugby League World Cup.

Crarey was in charge when Cumbria last played in the Garry Purdham Memorial game against England way back in 2010.

He is a very proud Cumbrian and will look to put together a formidable side capable of providing a true test for international opposition.

The coaching staff will now join the coordinating committee with their preparations for the game, with a playing squad announcement to follow.
