Barrow Raiders head coach Paul Crarey was crowned Citizen of the Year at the annual Love Barrow Awards on Friday night.
An annual event which recognises the special contribution of individuals and businesses in the local community, this year’s celebrations marked the 20th anniversary of the Love Barrow Awards.
2025 was the year that Crarey broke the record number of games coached in the history of Barrow Rugby League. But this award is also in recognition for all the good, often unseen, work that he does in the community.
Barrow Raiders is proud to be an integral part of that community, and our head coach plays a massive part in making sure we contribute to making Barrow a better place to live.
Winners were announced during a special ceremony at the Abbey House Hotel, Barrow.
We’d like to congratulate the other two nominees in the Citizen of the Year category: Jorgie Wilson, a tutor at South Lakes Rock School, and Gary Hibbert, who was nominated for his outstanding commitment to our community.
