Seth Woodend and Dan Knott have penned their first professional deals with Barrow Raiders ahead of the 2025 season.
Centre Woodend and winger Knott will link up with the first team squad and be eligible for selection in league and cup fixtures, having impressed during pre-season.
Knott scored three times – twice during the friendly against Whitehaven and once against Workington – while Woodend also found himself on the scoresheet against Whitehaven and Salford Red Devils.
The pair came through the Furness Raiders ranks and are now ready to make the jump from age-group rugby league to the professional game.
These signings wouldn’t have been possible without the support of the Barrow Raiders Super Lotto, and we’d like to thank all Super Lotto players for their continued support.

Barrow Raiders head coach Paul Crarey said: “Seth is an outstanding prospect in the centre position, and Dan is a talented winger who can also play at full-back.
“After impressing during our pre-season fixtures, we now look forward to helping them reach their full potential in the game.
“We will continue to monitor Trent Ruddy and Ollie Holmes, who were both outstanding during warm-up matches. All four will continue to train and be part of the first team squad.
“The Furness Raiders academy setup continues to be a fantastic breeding ground for young, aspiring professionals, and all the players are watched continuously, both in training and games.”
Director of rugby Andy Gaffney said: “It’s always fantastic when a player is able to progress through the club’s academy ranks and reach the first team, and the signing of Seth and Dan is no exception.
“They are extremely skilful players who have worked hard to get to this point. Now the challenge for them is to push our more established first team players and stake their claim to be involved on a regular basis.
“This double signing is another fantastic coup for Furness Raiders, and demonstrates our ability to retain and nurture the very best young players from across Cumbria.”
The Barrow Raiders Super Lotto provides funding for our Furness Raiders Development Academy team.
