Barrow Raiders’ 2026 season came to an end on Sunday afternoon as they were beaten 56-12 by Doncaster in Week 3 of the Betfred Championship play-offs.
A battered and bruised Raiders side, who were down on numbers already heading into Sunday’s game, were hit with an illness bug leading up to the game.
With several members of the squad playing through injury and a bench including just one forward, the Raiders improved upon the 72-0 scoreline in Week 1 of the play-offs but were well beaten at the Eco-Power Stadium.
Edene Gebbie opened the scoring four minutes in when he rose highest to claim a high kick to the corner.
Jacob Jones extended the advantage 12 minutes into the contest as Gebbie turned provider, before further scores from Connor Robinson, Tom Whitehead and Gebbie made it 30-0 by half-time.
Doncaster continued to hammer home their advantage, thanks to two tries inside the opening 10 minutes of the second half from James Glover.
Suaia Matagi took the Dons further clear with a barge-over to the left of the posts.
Barrow’s first try of the afternoon came courtesy of top scorer Ryan King, who took Harvey Makin’s offload and touched down under the posts.
Muizz Mustapha was next to go over, taking the home side beyond the 50-point mark 11 minutes from time.
Ellis Robson charged through the line to add another late consolation for the Raiders, but it would be Mustapha who had the final word, scoring his second of the afternoon.
