With so much uncertainty over the coming season the Barrow Raiders Board have been weighing up how we are able to get our season tickets on the market when we are not sure what the season will look like and not even sure what division we will be competing.
At the recent clubs meeting for teams competing in the Championship and League One there were various fixture proposals presented. This has now gone a step further and there are only three versions on the table, all of which start with both the 1895 and Challenge Cups, no earlier than March. There is a possibility that the early rounds of the cup could be in a round robin format or a straight knockout with the league campaign beginning in April.
Added to this is the application process for the spare place in the Championship. Barrow Raiders are currently in the process of putting together their bid. There is a lot of supporting information required and we are going to be very busy to meet the 2nd December deadline.
The RFL have indicated that they hope to make an announcement by the 10th December.
Should Barrow Raiders be successful in their promotion bid to the Championship then there is likely to be at least an extra two home games. However, we cannot afford to miss the Christmas market as season ticket sales are crucial as an income stream. Therefore, we have made the decision to base the prices of the season tickets on just 9 home games that we would have in League One. Should we gain promotion then we will honour the prices for all season tickets sold. If we are in the Championship the prices will rise.
So we are doing a scheme similar to an Earlybird in respect that the prices won’t rise until the decision from the RFL.
Our early prices are:
£135 Adults
£90 Concessions
We will still operate the pay monthly scheme which will be for 12 payments
£12 Adults
£8 Concessions
We would like to repeat our thanks to all those that pay monthly and have not reduced their monthly payments from the time when we were in the Championship. Rest assured that all the surplus money is being directed to the 1875 club player fund and should the need arise, could further strengthen the squad
We appreciate that the season ticket holders are amongst our most diehard and loyal fans and that we introduced some pricing initiatives last season that may have left some of them disengaged with the club. We make no apology in stating in advance that we will continue to try to introduce new fans and the club will be innovative in trying to increase crowds and to get them to the ground early. The board of directors see the increase in crowds as their number one KPI as this boosts so many other aspects of the club including sponsorship, secondary spending on merchandise, food and drink, attracting players and even the RFL in their quest for an improved broadcasting deal. If we can bring in better crowds, with a better atmosphere, then the club, together with the season ticket holders, will enjoy the benefits. We will endeavour to provide our season ticket holders with promotional offers throughout the season and hope that you all will continue to support the club. We really do appreciate the investment made with every purchase.
We will be releasing details shortly of the new online club shop with season tickets being able to be purchased through this method.
In addition, payment can be taken from the Lewthwaite Suite by cash or card, Monday to Friday 9am to 2pm.
