Unite the Union are fantastic sponsors who support all aspects of Raiders activity. Their association with the Raiders includes donating over £10,000 to our Advantage! Barrow Raiders Community Foundation programmes, sponsoring first team players and staff, supporting off-field club events, advertising within the club’s annual magazine and much more!
Unite’s support of our on-field endeavours also extends to the Barrow Ladies first team and reserves, as well as Furness Raiders and our Able Raiders.

Unite includes members from varying sectors throughout Barrow and the Furness area, including BAE Systems Submarines – with some Unite members being a part of the Raiders teams.
We spoke with Unite the Union 0401 branch chairman Mike Jones to discuss their ongoing association with the Raiders.
Why did you first choose to get involved with Barrow Raiders?
Many of Unite’s members follow the club, attend the ground and benefit from the great work that the Advantage! team has delivered locally. This has made the support we have been able to offer even more valuable.
The Raiders have an inspiring mantra, and as a club they strive to make rugby league accessible to ALL, regardless of diversity, age, gender, height and ability.
What benefits do you see as a business, supporting the work being done by the Raiders?
Unite 0401 Branch has been proud to support local sport, talent and the community through the Advantage! team.
We can help support and feel a part of the great efforts that the Raiders put into the area and the people that make the area, whether this is through the first team, ladies, Furness Raiders, kids camps, Able Raiders or the vast array of other sessions.
We see so many positive benefits for the local community and look forward to seeing how the group can grow in the future and beyond.
