Barrow Raiders welcome Dewsbury Rams to the Matt Johnson Prestige Stadium in the final home game of the regular Betfred Championship season this weekend.
Sunday’s clash sees Paul Crarey’s side, buoyed by last Saturday’s incredible 62-10 win at Newcastle Thunder, come up against an already-relegated Rams side who will be keen to restore some pride ahead of their demotion to Betfred League 1.
And with the race for fourth spot, and a subsequent home elimination play-off tie, hotting up, it could prove to be an afternoon of real significance for the Raiders.
The Opposition

With just three league wins so far in 2022, it has been a season to forget for Liam Finn’s side.
Results elsewhere meant the Rams’ relegation from the Betfred Championship was confirmed prior to their 22-20 defeat to Batley Bulldogs in the Heavy Woollen Derby on Monday night.
Since their Round 3 victory against Sheffield Eagles, they have only beaten bottom-of-the-table Workington Town home and away.
They met the Raiders back in May, with Paul Crarey’s side running out hard-fought 20-18 victors as captain Jarrad Stack grabbed a double.

Connor Saunders preview

Hooker Connor Saunders says confidence is sky-high as the club fights to secure fourth spot in the remaining two fixtures of the regular season.
The Ulverston amateur made his third Raiders appearance of the season during last week’s 11-try rout of Newcastle Thunder/
“There’s a lot of confidence in the lads at the minute,” he said. “We’re just sticking to our structure, which Paul wants us to play each week.
“The buzz around the place is outstanding. It’s a great feeling to turn up to training with the boys.”
