Barrow Raiders return to action after the international break when they welcome Halifax Panthers to the Matt Johnson Prestige Stadium on Monday night.

The Raiders come into the clash following impressive victories over Widnes Vikings and Workington Town, where they scored a combined total of 102 points, conceding just four.

Paul Crarey’s squad will no doubt be out for revenge after an injury-hit Raiders suffered a 40-18 defeat to Halifax at The Shay back in April.

Monday’s fixture kicks off at 7:45pm and will be broadcast live on Premier Sports.

With the Panthers sitting one place and one point above the Raiders in the Betfred Championship table, it could be a pivotal evening in the race for the play-offs, come the end of the season.

There is very little to separate the two sides with 15 rounds of the season played.

After losing five of their opening six competitive matches in all competitions in 2022, Simon Grix’s side have come roaring back in impressive fashion, winning nine of their last 10 league fixtures.

They come into the latest round of games as one of the competition’s in-form sides and, on current form, are fearsome opposition for any side in the division.

Among the stand-out players for Fax this season is half-back Joe Keyes, who has scored 124 points so far this season – the fourth-most of any player in the competition.

In addition, winger Lachlan Walmsley has scored 13 Betfred Championship tries for the club in 2022 following his off-season move from Whitehaven – one more than Raiders flyer Tee Ritson.
