Barrow Raiders return to action this Saturday as they welcome Newcastle Thunder to the Speed Competitions Stadium in Round 19 of the Betfred Championship (6pm kick-off).

The Raiders were forced to dig deep in their last outing, coming from behind to win 22-20 away at Salford RLFC, extending their winning run to six games.

This weekend, they face one of the division’s most in-form sides as Newcastle Thunder travel to Cumbria. The visitors currently sit in second place with eight consecutive victories, a streak which began with a 37-22 win against Paul Crarey’s side back in Round 11.

Squad news

The 21-man squad has been named ahead of Saturday’s match against Newcastle Thunder.

Greg Richards returns to the line-up after serving a one-match suspension he incurred following the victory against Sheffield Eagles. He is joined by young hooker Fin Dutton-Rosconie.

The pair replace forwards Ellis Archer and Ryan Brown.

Charlie Emslie will go into contention to make his 100th career appearance should he feature tomorrow.

Saturday’s Betfred Championship fixture at the Speed Competitions Stadium kicks off at 6pm. Match tickets, available to buy online at a discounted price until midnight the day before the game, or at the turnstiles, are priced as follows:

Online admission price:

  • Adults: £18
  • Juniors: Free*

Turnstile admission price:

  • Adults: £20
  • Juniors: Free*

*All juniors are free, but those UNDER secondary school age must be supervised by an adult.

All 1,000 free World Cup fan zone tickets for Saturday’s England game against Norway have now sold out.

However, we are guaranteeing free entry to all those who attend our game against Newcastle Thunder.

Amongst our ticket options are half-time entry tickets (after 6:45pm) for a fiver, but your best option will be to watch the whole rugby game and enjoy a fantastic clash between two teams battling near the top of the Betfred Championship table.

There will be a 15-minute window after the rugby match before the free fan zone ticket holders can enter the ground.

During this window, supporters in the ground will have the first opportunity to secure benches to watch the England game.

Free ‘fan zone only’ ticket holders are recommended to bring their own chair.
