Preview: Barrow Raiders vs Whitehaven

A huge clash awaits at the Northern Competitions Stadium this Sunday as Barrow Raiders host local rivals Whitehaven in Round 24 of the Betfred Championship.

The Raiders will be eager to prevent their Cumbrian rivals from leapfrogging them in the table, following last weekend’s 36-24 defeat to Toulouse Olympique, Paul Crarey’s men sit just one point above both Whitehaven, who currently occupy the final relegation spot, and Swinton Lions, who sit in the relegation play-off position.

Both sides last met back in March, when Barrow suffered an agonising 23-22 loss to this weekend’s visitors. With revenge, local bragging rights and the threat of relegation on the line, it’s shaping up to be one of the biggest fixtures in recent times.

Below, we’ve compiled everything you need to know ahead of the fixture.
