This Sunday, Barrow Raiders host York Knights RLFC in the club’s first home game of the 2024 Betfred Championship season.
With both teams losing their opening two league matches, it provides a good opportunity for both to get off the mark and start climbing the division after a difficult start.
Below, we’ve compiled everything you need to know ahead of the fixture.
PAUL CRAREY PREVIEW

Jarrad Stack preview

While acknowledging that his side have endured a tough start to the new Betfred Championship season, Barrow Raiders captain Jarrad Stack is hopeful that they can turn it around against York this weekend.
The Raiders are one of just four sides – alongside Sunday’s visitors – that have yet to get themselves off the mark in 2024, but second-rower Stack believes this Sunday’s clash with the winless Knights has the potential to push the Raiders back in the right direction.
“It’s been a disappointing start to the season,” the 36-year-old said.
“The team we have on paper is more than capable of replicating our success of 2022, but it means nothing if we don’t put the right performance in on a matchday.
“We are working very hard on the field and making everyone accountable, including myself.”
SQUAD NEWS
Head coach Paul Crarey has named his 21-man squad ahead of Round 3.
There is just one alteration to the squad that were narrowly beaten at Whitehaven last time out, with forward Ellis Gillam named for the first time since recovering from a long-term achilles injury which has kept him out since last June.
He comes in for Shane Toal, with the rest of the 21 unchanged.
