Barrow Raiders will return to Yorkshire this weekend to take on Halifax Panthers in the Betfred Championship.
With three places separating the sides in the league table ahead of Sunday’s fixture, it promises to be an intriguing clash between two sides coming into the game off the back of contrasting results.
The hosts secured a memorable 20-17 victory away at Bradford Bulls on Good Friday, despite playing the majority of the game with 12 men, while the Raiders were comfortably beaten 58-6 away at league leaders Featherstone Rovers.
The match will take place at the Shay, with kick-off at 3:00pm.
With four wins and four losses from their opening eight league matches, it has been a steady start to the season for the Panthers.
Under the guidance of Simon Grix, they have acquitted themselves well so far as they look to equal last season’s third-placed finish in the division, although they have won just two of their opening five home games in all competitions in 2022.
Nevertheless, with a squad brimming with Betfred Championship experience, they could pose a real threat to the Raiders and will come into the game high on confidence after their gritty victory at Odsal over the Easter weekend.
