Barrow Raiders are back in Betfred Championship action this weekend as they prepare to visit York City Knights.

The Knights sit third in the table, four points off top spot with 16 rounds played.

The Raiders are seven points further adrift in sixth following Monday’s defeat to Halifax Panthers, although they do still occupy the final play-off spot heading into this weekend’s set of fixtures.

Without doubt, the Knights are one of the division’s in-form sides, winning 11 of their last 12 league games.

All three of their Betfred Championship defeats have, however, been on home soil, although they have come against fellow promotion hopefuls Featherstone Rovers, Leigh Centurions and Halifax Panthers.

Their most recent victory came away at Whitehaven, with James Ford’s side racing into a 30-0 half-time lead before going on to win the match 40-16.

A number of their forward pack, including Chris Clarkson, Pauli Pauli and Masi Matongo, have Super League experience under their belts and are helping spearhead the Knights’ charge for a top-four finish in 2022.

They also boast plenty of quality in the backline, with full-back Matty Marsh and Australian half-back Brendan O’Hagan particular standouts throughout 2022.
