Barrow Raiders put in an excellent display to overcome Featherstone Rovers 25-12 at the Northern Competitions Stadium in the Betfred Championship on Sunday.

Paul Crarey’s men bounced back from last weekend’s battling defeat in Toulouse, scoring four tries to record their fourth league win of the season.

The visitors opened the scoring 20 minutes into the clash through Caleb Aekins, but the Raiders were constantly threatening the Rovers’ defence and received their just reward on the stroke of half time when Andrew Bulman crashed over in the corner to send the teams heading into the sheds at 6-6.

The hosts carried their momentum into the second half of proceedings, with Bulman once again finishing off a fantastic attacking move to dive over in the corner just six minutes after the interval.

Featherstone hit back through Paul Turner but it wouldn’t be long before the hosts were in front once more when Shane Toal collected a towering kick from Brad Walker to crash over the line on his 150th career appearance.

Harvey Makin charged down a kick from Danny Addy 30 metres from the try line which was chased and collected by Luke Broadbent who dotted down under the sticks to all but seal the victory 65 minutes in.

Brad Walker ensured the Raiders would pick up a huge two points with a drop goal 10 minutes from full-time.

A trip to Odsal beckons for Paul Crarey’s side on Sunday, where they will look to build on their fantastic performance against a Bradford Bulls side who narrowly lost out to Batley Bulldogs at the weekend.
