Barrow Raiders’ pre-season preparations began with a comfortable 42-4 victory over Whitehaven.
On a bitterly cold Tuesday night at the Northern Competitions Stadium, the Raiders ran in nine tries and were in control throughout the contest.
Six players – including four from the club’s Furness Raiders Development Academy – made their first team debut. Of those six, Dan Knott scored twice and Seth Woodend completed the scoring in the final minutes.
The fixture also gave Raiders supporters the opportunity to see first starts for Ellis Robson and former Whitehaven man Ryan King.
