Barrow Raiders’ pre-season schedule concluded with an emphatic 58-12 victory over a youthful Salford Red Devils at the Northern Competitions Stadium.

The Raiders ran in 11 tries, following up victories against Whitehaven and Workington Town to ensure they finished pre-season with three wins from three.

Among the scorers were winger Andrew Bulman, who kept up his fine form with a hat-trick, and off-season signings Ellis Robson, Ryan King and Curtis Teare, all of whom scored their first tries for the club.

Robson’s effort was the pick of the bunch, the powerful forward charging down a Kai Morgan kick then racing 70m downfield to score.

Overall, it proved to be a valuable run-out for the Raiders, who now turn their attentions to a first competitive fixture of the year against Crosfields in the second round of this season’s Betfred Challenge Cup.

A confirmed date/time for that fixture will be confirmed in due course, with tickets going on sale shortly after.
