Barrow Raiders fell short in the capital, losing 18-10 to London Broncos in Round 20 of the Betfred Championship.
Despite losing Matt Costello to a wrist injury in the opening 10 minutes, the Raiders hit the front as tries from stand-in captain Luke Cresswell and winger Andrew Bulman put them 10-0 ahead.
But two unconverted scores from Jack Smith and Ethan Natoli brought the hosts back to within two points at the break.
The Broncos hit the front seven minutes into the second half, winger Liam Tindall receiving the ball out wide then cutting inside beyond defenders to score.
Another unsuccessful conversions meant the Raiders trailed by two heading into the final quarter, and the decisive blow was struck at the death when Alex Walker received a neat pass and went over unopposed to seal victory for the home side.
Another away game awaits the Raiders this week, with Oldham to come on Sunday at Boundary Park. Tickets are available to buy here.
