Barrow Raiders exited the 1895 Cup after a 36-10 defeat away at London Broncos.
The Broncos, who sit top of the Betfred Championship table with five wins from five and over 300 points scored, proved too strong on the day for the Raiders as they secured safe passage to the next round.
Despite falling behind to an early Epel Kapinias try from close range, the Raiders rallied and hauled themselves back to within two points inside the opening quarter. A long pass wide by Ryan Johnston was collected by Tee Ritson, who darted round the defence and managed to get the ball down in the corner.
As the half wore on, the Broncos started to build momentum, going over through Liam Tindall and Elliot Wallis, with both tries converted by Gairo Voro.
Leading by 14 at the break, London extended their advantage before the hour mark, Brandon Webster-Mansfield and Marcus Stock both adding four-pointers to the home side’s tally.
With 19 minutes to go, they moved further clear as Lewis Bienek burrowed his way over the line, another Voro conversion making it 36-4.
But the final word would be the Raiders’ as Ritson went over for his second try with three minutes to play.
Next up, the Raiders return to Championship action away at Hunslet on Sunday 22 March (3pm kick-off). Tickets are available to buy here.
