Barrow Raiders Ladies have signed Kendall Dutton to their first team squad on a permanent basis.
After impressing head coach Amanda Wilkinson during appearances she has made for the Raiders Ladies Under 19s earlier in the season, Dutton was handed her first team debut during Sunday’s 16-8 victory over Leigh Leopards.
A part of the club’s Under 19s setup for the past two seasons, she has also gained rugby experience playing for Ulverston on dual-registration.
Proving that the Raiders runs in the family, Kendall is the younger sister of Fin Dutton, who signed his first professional deal with the club last month.
“Playing for the Raiders Ladies is a massive privilege, and it’s so rewarding getting to represent my hometown club,” she said.
“It means a lot to me and my family, and I can’t wait to embrace this opportunity.”
Kendall’s uncle has also played for Barrow in the past, and both he and Kendall have followed the club their whole lives.
Kendall’s younger brother is also part of the Furness Raiders Development Academy, as was Fin before he graduated to the first team.
Barrow Ladies head coach Amanda Wilkinson said: “I’m really looking forward to Kendall getting involved with the Super League team.
“She is a great utility player for us and has really impressed me during her time with the Under 19s.
“She was particularly impressive when she made her Super League debut on Sunday against Leigh, when she took to the field and demonstrated her great attitude, power and composure.”
