The Raiders squad were back in training on Monday evening ahead of the 2022 season.
The squad registered their first pre-season training at the Matt Johnson Prestige Stadium in preparation of the 2022 Championship campaign.
Our 2022 fixtures kick-off at home to Sheffield Eagles in Round One, while the club will also face Newcastle Thunder at home in a pre-season friendly.
Speaking of the first pre-season session, head coach Paul Crarey said: “They’ve come in full of enthusiasm which is great.
“It’s the first time we’ve been back in for a few weeks now. Just a real short session to get the legs going and a little bit of graded contact. I’m looking forward to progressing over the next few weeks.”
He also added a message to young fan, Harley Anderson, who has recently been diagnosed with CML (chronic myeloid leukemia).
“I want him to stay strong and the whole club is behind him and and his whole family,” Crarey said.
“There’s a Just Giving page and he’s a part of our rugby family and everybody looks after everybody in the rugby family, so hopefully all the Raiders fans, players and myself will donate which will make it just a little bit easier for the family in this difficult time.”
