Barrow Raiders go in search of a sixth consecutive league victory this Saturday as they travel to the north-east to face Newcastle Thunder in Round 11 of the Betfred Championship.
The Raiders moved into second place following their 26-20 win over Halifax Panthers at the Speed Competitions Stadium last weekend, and they could move up to the summit of the table with another two points in Newcastle tomorrow, with current leaders London Broncos facing off against Doncaster on Sunday.
It will be a tough battle for Paul Crarey’s side this weekend, however, as Thunder, who have been revitalised since the merging of the Championship and League One divisions this year, currently sit in fifth place with six wins from nine games. It will be a good acid test for the Raiders if they can maintain their momentum against a powerful Newcastle outfit.
Below, we’ve compiled everything you need to know ahead of the fixture.

Squad news
The 21-man squad has been named ahead of Saturday’s clash against Newcastle Thunder.
Young forward Finn McMillan, who signed a two-year deal with Wigan Warriors in December last year, comes into the squad for the first time this season.
Also returning to the fold is Tom Walker, who has been sidelined with an injury since Good Friday’s victory against Widnes Vikings, and Jarrad Stack, who was absent from last weekend’s squad.
The trio replace Harvey Makin, Trent Ruddy and Seth Woodend.
