Barrow Raiders moved joint-top of the Betfred Championship table after coming from behind to defeat Halifax Panthers 26-20 in a pulsating encounter.

The Raiders had trailed 14-4 at half-time against the Panthers, with Curtis Teare’s surging effort from close range coming after tries from Ben Will, Alfie Lindsey and Jesse Soric.

But a superb second-half showing saw Paul Crarey’s men turn the game on its head.

Jarrad Stack, who scored his first try since 2024 in the club’s Good Friday victory over Widnes Vikings, made it two in as many games at the Speed Competitions Stadium, touching down to the left of the posts after a superb cut-out pass from Alex Bishop.

They went back-to-back soon after, captain Ryan Johnston racing away after supporting Tee Ritson’s break down the left.

That levelled the scores at 14-14, and before the hour mark the Raiders hit the front through Matt Costello, who scored their third try in a six-minute purple patch.

Teare’s second of the afternoon gave the home side a little breathing space with 10 minutes to go, although Zack McComb’s late effort set up a grandstand finish.

Trailing by six, the Panthers threw everything at the Raiders in the closing stages, but time proved to be their enemy as the full-time hooter signalled a 26-20 victory to Barrow.
