Barrow Raiders eased their way into the third round of the Betfred Challenge Cup with a comfortable 86-6 victory over Crosfields.

The Raiders ran in a total of 16 tries against the Warrington-based amateur side, with Brad Walker adding 22 points with the boot.

Among the scorers were Ryan King, Ellis Robson and Curtis Teare, who were all making their competitive debut for the club. Teare grabbed one of two hat-tricks, the other coming for fellow outside back Shane Toal.

After a scoreless first half which saw the Raiders lead 38-0, Crosfields did enjoy a moment to remember as Jack Williams crashed over from close range.

That reduced the arrears to 44-6 at the time, but Paul Crarey’s side hammered home their superiority with 42 unanswered points in the final 25 minutes.

The Raiders will enjoy a week off before returning to action against Oldham, who also booked their place in the next round of the competition with victory over amateur opposition.

Third round ties will be played over the weekend of February 7-9.
