Advantage! Able Raiders have been shortlisted for a grant by the 2023 People’s Projects.
In September 2022 The National Lottery Community Fund invited organisations across the UK that are already doing great work in their local community to apply.
The National Lottery Community Fund and ITV shortlisted five projects in each region to go forward to the public vote, and now it is up to the public to decide which projects they would like to see receive National Lottery funding.

With 95 organisations shortlisted across the UK, Advantage! are over the moon to have been shortlisted for the final five in the Grenada Region for our Able Raiders project!
The three projects with the most votes in each region get up to £70,000, while the runners-up receive £10,000. Any grant won would go to the Advantage! Barrow Raiders Community Foundation.
Able Raiders started out as a rugby league session for adults with learning disabilities but has since grown to offer a number of other popular activities.
The initiative services all of the Barrow and Furness area, with large numbers attending each week.

Should we be successful in receiving a grant, the club would use the money to bring in more staff for the clubs, buy a kit for the rugby league team to wear and also be able to participate in the Learning Disability Super League festivals again.
Voting opens at 9am on Monday 15 May and closes at midday on Friday 26 May.
It would mean the absolute world if you could vote for Able Raiders to receive this life-changing amount of money so we can continue a project close to our hearts.
